New Year’s undoubtedly a time to ‘turn over a new leaf’, as is commonly said. It’s a time to draw a close on the dying past and welcome the unseen and new—a time to start all over again with renewed enthusiasm and stronger focus ! But how to go about it? Simple ! Just make a New Year resolution ! Well, you can either write down your goals or just resolve it in your mind as to how you’re going to better yourself in the coming year. It’s customary to make resolutions on this New Year day…but fact remains, most people can’t even recall their resolution the very next day (thanks to their over-indulgence in excessive spirits) !
To neutralize the ill-effects of all excesses that people give free rein to at this time, the New Year resolutions are so far the best. People get to confess, purge, renew and resolve all at the same time to gear their lives towards a better future. Earlier, the New Year resolutions were religious undertakings but as time progressed, it relaxed to a secular endeavor and today, New Year resolutions are made more with a jest than with any spiritual intentions !
