Mothers' Day Information :: Mother’s Day Recipes
Mother—the closest word to our heart and soul—evokes a string of thoughts and images in our minds. And it’s when these are put down into words by poets, writers, philosophers and many other important people that time has produced, they become worth reckoning. On this warm occasion of Mother’s Day, here’s some of the most popular Mother’s day quotes and poems of time for you to check out:

"All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother."—a very famous line by Abraham Lincoln and one wonderfully powerful quote which bears the true essence of motherhood. Yes, it’s true that whatever we are or expect to be in the days to come, is because of that one being, the one love in all our lives—Mother. She has often been adjudged the guardian angel sent from above, the one who’s given the task to handle it all alone…because "God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers." (A Jewish proverb)

Lincoln even said that— "I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life." A mother’s prayers, indeed, lives in our hearts forever !

As a matter of fact, "The mother's heart is the child's schoolroom.", said Henry Ward Beecher. A mother is the first teacher in the child’s life, with whom the child takes his/ her first step towards ‘growing up’ in the real sense of the term.

Honore' de Balzac said— "The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness."
No denying this that the one shelter you can always be well assured of, is that of a mother !

There are many such wonderful and thought-provoking Mother’s Day quotes, which demand mention by dint of their depth of meaning and uniqueness in style. Some of these Mother’s day quotes are:
"A mother's heart will always know the feelings words can't always show."
(Unknown)
Oh well, that’s probably what makes a mother The Mother !

"Every man, for the sake of the great blessed Mother in Heaven, and for the love of his own little mother on earth, should handle all womankind gently, and hold them in all Honor." --Alfred Lord Tennyson
Something to think about, indeed !

"Youth fades; love droops, the leaves of friendship fall; A mother's secret hope outlives them all." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
A mother is always there to show us the right road and override our fears.

‘She Shall Be Praised’ is one poem which requires mention in the context of Mother’s Day. It goes as:
"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth no the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
Give her the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates."

Then there’s these wonderful lines on mothers in Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s poem ‘Aurora Leigh’. They are:
"The way to rear up children (to be just)
They know a simple, merry, tender knack
Of tying sashes, fitting baby-shoes
And stringing pretty words that make no sense."

And here’s one of the best quotes on mothers that has ever been produced or conceived. This one is by T. DeWitt Talmage and is worth mentioning on Mother’s Day. It says:
"Mother – that was the bank where we deposited all our hurts and worries."
Very true, indeed ! Mother is that magic being on earth who’d accept all sorts of depositions, but will always produce endless love and affection at every withdrawal !

Wish this wonder-woman on Mother’s Day. Pay your tributes, send your love and regards and make her smile !
