Ribs
Ingredients:
3 to 4 lbs. ribs cut into pieces
1 cup tomato paste
1 tsp. salt
1 large onion
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. chili powder
1 1/2 cup coffee
2 cups water
1 lemon
1/8 tsp. liquid smoke
Directions:
Place ribs in the roasting pan. Place a slice of
lemon and onion on each rib. Roast in oven at
450 degrees for about half an hour. Mix the
remaining ingredients and pour over ribs. Reduce
heat to 350 degrees. Bake until the chicken
becomes tender. It takes about one hour
approximately. Baste ribs every 15 minutes to
get the perfect flavor that will set the right
zest for your
Fourth of July
celebration.
BBQ Chicken
Ingredients:
1 fryer chicken or 4 to 6 breasts
1/2 cup tomato paste
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tbsp. brown sugar Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Place chicken in slow-cooker. Mix
all other ingredients and
pour over chicken. Cook over low heat for at
least 8 hours. Serve and savor and let your
mouths water this 4th of July. And, no Fourth
of July is complete without the toothsome
barbecue !
Fruit Salad
Ingredients:
4 tbsp. maraschino cherries
3 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
1 sm. can crushed pineapple, drained
2 cup sour cream
3/4 cup sugar
Directions:
Mix the ingredients; fill paper muffin cups with
the mixture. Freeze and then place the cups in
plastic bag until they are ready to use.
Strawberry Cream Pie
Ingredients:
1tsp. unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup Cherri-Swiss liqueur or cherry-flavored
brandy
1/2 pint whipping cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 9-inch pie shell, baked and cooled
1 pint large strawberries, washed, hulled, and
cut into halves (lengthwise)
