Fourth of July Crafts
Well,
it’s Independence Day—the Fourth of July—and the
spirits are running high for sure for all the
American’s who take pride in the nation’s past. But
as you share the pride with all fellow-Americans on
the 4th of July, you must also take care to hand
over the traditions and values to the generation
next.
The kids must also take part in some way to this
huge patriotic celebration. And if you ask, what the
best way to get started is, the answer will most
conveniently be through some Fourth of July
crafts. The history of America’s freedom is of
course there in the text-books; but the most
successful route to infuse a comprehensive knowledge
in children is to take up a practical approach. So
help them craft out something for the 4th of July.
Inspire them to do anything that catches their
fancy; but ensure just that it fits the spirits and
mood of Fourth of July.
Here are some Fourth of July craft ideas to
help you get started:
-
To
begin, let them craft out the national flag. Get
them some sticks, paper, glue and some red, white
and blue crayons. When the little talents are done
and dusted with their crafts, ask them to put it
up in their room on 4th of July.
-
If
they are good at painting or coloring, give them
some Fourth of July special pictures to draw or
color. That will suffice both for knowledge and
fun for these young ones.
-
For a
little higher age group, you can inspire them to
craft out a patriotic 4th of July pen-stand or
photo-frame. The materials required are paper,
cardboard, sketch-pens, silver glitters and a bit
of creativity !
-
Ask
the little talents to make medium-sized cutouts of
fireworks, flags, drums, the bell, or the Uncle
Sam figure. Then ask them to sew each in a cyclic
order to make an entire Fourth of July
special string to hang in the hall. They’re sure
to swell when everyone appreciates their creation
in the evening at the 4th of July bash.
-
Or
give them a white table-spread and ask them to
decorate it in Stars and Stripes. Supervise to see
that they go about it right, put exactly 7 red
stripes and 6 white stripes and flag up the right
amount of fun and frolic.
-
For
still bigger kids, more precisely the teens, one
great Fourth of July craft idea is to
create some peachy patriotic tees. Tell them to
come up with their creative slogans in keeping
with the 4th of July spirit and then get it
painted on the tees to flaunt the right mood for
this huge occasion—Independence Day !
-
Making greeting cards for friends and family to
wish them a ‘Happy Fourth of July’, are always
good and simple ideas, when you’ve less time at
your disposal and still want to contribute to the
event in some way.
-
Teens
will love the thought right away—ask them to make
some cool striped head-bands in red, white and
blue and fix some shimmery silver stars on it.
-
Ask
the younger ones to create 3D-fireworks with
construction paper, red, white and blue markers,
glue, 1 ft sticks, strings, stars and glitters.
Now, there’s actually
no end to how creative and innovative you can be.
Anything would zoom off to the hall of fame if it’s
neat, meaningful and befitting to the massive
occasion of Fourth of July ! So, instead of lazing
off, act up the true American this Fourth and
inspire the young ones to show off the best of
themselves on this day !
